Step by step procedure for reconditioning the car battery at home:

Test the Battery:

The battery must be tested using Voltmeter to ensure the entire procedure is not a waste of time. If it operates on 12 volts, you may proceed further. Leave any battery that won’t hold charge or one that produces below 10 volts.>

Prepare a solution of Magnesium Sulfate’s :

Take distilled water on half quartz and dissolve Epsom salt or Magnesium sulfate in it. Heat the mixture to a temperature about 150 degrees F. The mass of magnesium sulfate needed is 7 oz.

Remove the Caps:

The cell caps on the top of the battery need to be removed. If the battery cover is sealed, drill it. Take a wet paper towel and carefully clean the area around the holes.

Drain of the Battery’s fluid:

The battery fluid must be drained out so that the solution made up of magnesium sulfate can be poured inside the battery by use of a plastic funnel. Ensure to uniformly disperse the solution inside the battery. You need to shake it several times. Seal the battery by inserting the plastic plugs.

Recharge the battery:

Once you are done with the above-mentioned process, recharge the battery for one day. When it is fully charged, put it back in the car. It is highly recommended that you leave the battery for around 3 to 4 days to be charged so that the battery can get the maximum energy.

Battery should be properly stored:

When the battery is not needed, store it in a proper way at a proper place so that there is no undue refurbishing needed. In other words, you reduce the risk of going through whole procedure again and again. You can put the battery on a trickle charger if are not planning to use the battery for few weeks.
